History of Łukasiewicz – Industrial Chemistry Institute
Łukasiewicz – Industrial Chemistry Institute is a research institute with more than 100 years of tradition. It is the heir to the METAN Company, established in 1916 in Lviv on the initiative of Professor Ignacy Moscicki, which was soon transformed into the Chemical Research Institute.
On June 1, 2020, the following belonging to the Łukasiewicz Research Network: the Pharmaceutical Institute and the Institute of Biotechnology and Antibiotics were incorporated into the Industrial Chemistry Institute (Lukasiewicz – ICHP).
Today, we are a leading research institute in Poland in the field of applied research and development in chemistry, chemical technology, biotechnology and pharmacy. The Institute’s achievements include more than 2,000 patents and hundreds of original technological and apparatus developments applied on an industrial scale at home and abroad.
