As of 1 January 2025 – by decision of the President of the Łukasiewicz Centre – Zbigniew Rogulski, PhD, has taken up the position of Deputy Director for Research at our Institute.

Dr. Z. Rogulski is a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw (1999). Here he defended his doctoral thesis in chemical sciences (2004). He obtained his habilitation in technical sciences (chemical technology) at the Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology in 2016.

From 1999 to 2015, he was a researcher at our Institute, and from 2016 onwards, he served for eight years as Vice-Dean of the UW Department of Chemistry for Finance, Development and Infrastructure. From 2017 to the present, he has been Chairman of the Board of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Organic Industry.

He completed Postgraduate Management Studies in School Management (Faculty of Management, UW, 2017), Postgraduate Legal and Financial Studies – Sustainable Finance (Faculty of Law and Administration, UW, 2024), participant in postgraduate studies ‘Project Management’ (SGH, 2024-2025). Between 2010 and 2014, he completed a series of training courses on commercialisation of R&D results and supervision and operation of special purpose vehicles.

Between 2012 and 2016, he was a member of the Management Board and then the Supervisory Board of the University of Warsaw’s special purpose vehicle dedicated to the commercialisation of research and development (UWRC sp. z o.o.).

He was the manager and principal investigator of numerous national and international projects in the field of energy storage, recycling of batteries and accumulators and the use of radioisotopes in medical diagnostics. He initiated the establishment and managed the first laboratory in Poland to conduct pre-clinical research using isotope techniques (PET/SPECT/CT).

His scientific output includes (co-authorship and authorship): 60 scientific publications in Philadelphia-listed journals, six patents, two patent applications, two know-how solutions. Hirsch index – 16.
