Pharmacy, Cosmetic Chemistry and Biotechnology RESEARCH GROUP
Chemistry Section
Our research activities focus on organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. We conduct research on new potential therapeutics: original small molecules or molecules that are derivatives of natural compounds.
Research offer:
- development of innovative technologies for active substances of generic drugs on laboratory and large-scale non-GMP laboratory scale, allowing successive scaling up of processes of manufacturing pharmaceutical substances up to semi-technical scale,
- scientific research into the search for new compounds possessing biological activity in cooperation with leading academic centres at home and abroad.
Work in both research areas involves the application of various synthetic techniques with processes conducted under variable conditions, parallel synthesis, unit process optimisation, and crystallisation studies for use in polymorphism research or in the purification of substances.
We have modernised equipment facilities which, in addition to typical organic synthesis laboratory equipment, include:
- chromatographs: analytical and preparative HPLC
- HPLC-MS kit with TLC-MS attachment
- Biotage flash chromatographs with DAD and ELSD detectors
- hydrogen generator, freeze dryer
- modern rotary evaporators with circulation thermostats and vacuum controllers
- vacuum dryers
- IR and UV-Vis spectrometer
- high-pressure reactor with instrumentation
- glass reactors with instrumentation
- Easy Max Advanced 102 Mettler workstation
- ATR-IR monitoring probes
