The Product Technology Park, Pharmacokinetics, Hydrogen and Biotechnology and Vinyl Polymer Laboratories are just some of the stops on the Łukasiewicz – ICI tour by special guest Prof. Dr. Maria Mrówczyńska, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, who visited our Institute on July 30, 2024.

The Director of the Institute, Dr. Ewa Śmigiera, in a short presentation, presented the remarkable history of the establishment of our institution, which has been established for more than a century, and whose patrons now remain Ignacy Mościcki and Ignacy Łukasiewicz. She also introduced the Minister to the variety of initiatives and research work undertaken by the Institute.

Among other things, the visit was an opportunity for our scientists and researchers to present current projects, both grant and commercial, that we are working on. We were also able to show off our state-of-the-art, world-class research equipment, including in the Vinyl Polymer Section and the newly established Hydrogen Laboratory. Also on the itinerary of this remarkable tour were the manufacturing hall where we produce active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), including cladribine, the only one of its kind in Poland, as well as the impressive chemical process technology hall.

It was also an opportunity to talk about the Institute’s ambitious upcoming plans, including the launch of an investment with funds from the National Reconstruction Plan (KPO) under the codename CAMPUS MOŚCICKI.

– During my visit to Industrial Chemistry Institute, I had the opportunity to see impressive laboratories and facilities that bear witness to advanced research in chemical processes, including on an industrial scale. Special recognition is due to the staff and management, whose commitment and competence in the areas of the green economy, health, clean mobility and digital transformation are admirable and form the foundation for future innovation in the chemical industry – Deputy Minister Prof. Maria Mrówczyńska said after the meeting.

We thank the Minister very much for her visit to our Institute and hope for another fruitful meeting.
