{"id":35682,"date":"2026-09-25T14:04:32","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T12:04:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ichp.lukasiewicz.gov.pl\/2026\/09\/25\/management-change-at-the-lukasiewicz-industrial-chemistry-institute\/"},"modified":"2026-09-28T09:56:55","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T07:56:55","slug":"management-change-at-the-lukasiewicz-industrial-chemistry-institute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ichp.lukasiewicz.gov.pl\/en\/2026\/09\/25\/management-change-at-the-lukasiewicz-industrial-chemistry-institute\/","title":{"rendered":"Management Change at the \u0141ukasiewicz &#8211; Industrial Chemistry Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Effective 25 September 2026, Prof. Rafa\u0142 Marcin \u0141ukasik has been appointed Acting Director of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 Industrial Chemistry Institute.<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof. Rafa\u0142 Marcin \u0141ukasik is a chemical engineer whose career bridges scientific excellence, policy advice, and international cooperation. Most recently, he served as the Director of the Research, Innovation and Commercialisation Department at \u0141ukasiewicz Centre, that is a part of \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network, and serves as the Presidential Plenipotentiary for International Relations.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, he was appointed to the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors to the European Commission, where he contributes independent, evidence-based recommendations on critical challenges for European Union. He also sits on the Executive Board of EARTO, actively shaping European strategies for research and technology organizations. At the national level, he is a member of the General Council for Science and Higher Education and advises the Polish Ministry of Science on the promotion of Polish science abroad and on the development of research infrastructures as well as on updating the National Science Policy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before returning to Poland in 2023, Prof. \u0141ukasik spent nearly 20 years in Portugal, most notably at the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG), where he worked as Senior Researcher and led initiatives in bioenergy, biofuels, and the circular bioeconomy. He also contributed as an expert to the European Commission\u2019s DG Research &amp; Innovation on research infrastructures and innovation policy, as well as to European platforms such as ETIP Bioenergy. His scientific work focuses on green chemistry, renewable energy, and biorefineries, and he is recognized for advancing sustainable technologies with industrial and policy impact.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof. \u0141ukasik\u2019s academic record is equally strong: he holds a Ph.D. and habilitation in Chemical Engineering from NOVA University of Lisbon and was awarded the title of Full Professor in Chemical Engineering in Poland in 2022.
